GentShot (Penile PRP)
- Procedure
- In-office
- Same-day
GentShot is GentsMed's name for penile platelet-rich plasma (PRP) — also known clinically as intracavernosal PRP. Blood is drawn, centrifuged to concentrate platelets, and injected into the corpus cavernosum and glans. Many men report improvements in firmness and sensitivity within 6–8 weeks.
Typically used for:
Supporting erectile function and sensitivity in men with mild-to-moderate ED.

Benefits
What GentShot (Penile PRP) can do for you.
Improved erectile response
Many men report improvements in erectile firmness and quality of erection by 6–8 weeks post-procedure.
Enhanced sensitivity
Some men report heightened sensitivity and shortened refractory period.
No daily medication
One in-office procedure with effects that build over weeks — no daily pill required.
GentShot is GentsMed's brand name for penile platelet-rich plasma (PRP) — a regenerative-medicine procedure clinically referred to as intracavernosal PRP. PRP is prepared from the patient's own blood and injected into the penis. It is used for erectile function and sexual sensitivity, and sits in the broader regenerative-medicine landscape alongside shockwave therapy and stem-cell approaches. You may have heard it called the "P-Shot" elsewhere — it is the same category of procedure.
How it works
Blood is drawn (typically 30–60 mL), centrifuged to separate and concentrate platelets, and the resulting PRP is injected into the corpora cavernosa and glans after a local field block. The theory: platelets release growth factors (PDGF, VEGF, TGF-β, EGF) that stimulate tissue regeneration, angiogenesis, and neural recovery. The clinical effect, if any, develops over weeks as those biological processes unfold.
What the evidence supports — and does not
The evidence base is thin and uneven.1 Small observational studies and case series report improvements in International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) scores and subjective sensitivity.2 Randomized placebo-controlled trials are sparse, and the International Society for Sexual Medicine has issued cautious guidance noting that PRP for ED remains investigational.3 Honest expectations are essential.
Who it is for
Most appropriate for men with mild-to-moderate ED who have not fully responded to PDE5 inhibitors, who want to avoid pharmaceutical dependence, or who are exploring options before escalating to intracavernosal injections. It is not a substitute for established treatments in moderate-to-severe vasculogenic ED.
What to expect
- In-office procedure, ~30–45 minutes total.
- Topical numbing + local field block. Most men report mild discomfort during injection.
- Minimal downtime — back to normal activity same day; avoid intense exercise for 24–48 hours.
- Effects, when present, develop over 4–8 weeks. Repeat treatments may be recommended.
How it works
From consult to follow-up.
Initial consultation
A board-certified physician reviews your symptoms, history, and goals. At many participating clinics the first visit is complimentary.
Baseline labs
Bloodwork tailored to the protocol. Results come back in days, not weeks. We don't prescribe before we have your numbers.
Personalized protocol
Your physician calibrates your dose based on your labs and your goals — not a template. Adjustments happen as your data evolves.
Ongoing follow-up
Recheck visits at six and twelve weeks, then quarterly. Real follow-up, structured into the plan.
- Duration
- 30–45 minute in-office procedure
- Results timeline
- Effects develop over 4–8 weeks; may need repeat sessions
Designed around your schedule
Consults are short
Initial visits are typically 45–60 minutes. Many participating clinics waive the fee for new patients.
Telehealth follow-ups
Where state regulations allow, follow-up visits are conducted via telehealth — no extra drive time.
Medication shipped
Prescriptions ship directly from a 503B-licensed pharmacy to your door. No standing in line.
Quarterly check-ins
Real follow-up at six and twelve weeks, then quarterly. Not constant visits, not zero visits.

GentShot results showed up around the 6-week mark. The consultation was thorough about realistic expectations — which I appreciated vs. clinics that promise miracles.
